Finishing off.....

Hello! Hope you all had a great weekend, we did here (although I can't actually think of anything specific that we did, just the usual weekend stuff, shopping, taxiing the kids, cooking, gardening etc).

I thought I'd show you the pile of unfinished works that is growing on the end of the ironing board, with the vain hope that it will spur me to action and get them finished off. It is all the fiddly finishing off that I find a bit tedious, hence I tend to move to a new shiny project and leave a trail of 'nearly there' loveliness!

There are scarves, cushion covers, dolls and a pile of granny squares to get through, maybe later in the week I'll show you all my progress!

These granny squares are for Sarah London's Crochet A Rainbow, so I must get cracking and finish them off for this good cause!

Thank you all for entering my give away, I'm glad you all like it! If you haven't entered there is still plenty of time, just see my last post for details!

Better go get Max from school, so that's all for now, have a great day!

100 Posts Give Away!!!

Hello there!

Today is a bit of a milestone for little woollie, it's my 100th post and we have just clicked over 100 followers!!
So thank you so much for all bothering to follow my little blog, I am so amazed at the whole fantastic bloggy community!

I think it is time for a celebratory thank you give away as a little reward for your interest and attention!

I was trying to decide what might be nice for someone to receive as a give away, would you lovely ladies like a granny square softie like Eddie Owl or would a flowery dangly vine garland be more up your alley?

Sooo.... I'm giving you a choice!

To enter this give away all you need to do is leave a comment telling me you'd like to enter and which present you would prefer! It would be lovely if you spread the word on your own blogs of course ,:) but not essential.
Anyone can enter and I'll send it anywhere in the world!

I'll leave it open till the 7th March, so I hope you all leave a message, I'd love to thank you all for your support!

PS. Aren't these dahlias just beautiful? I love the colours. I have had a really great display this year with all the extra rain. I'm going to divide them up this year so I can have a whole border of them next summer.

Have a great week end!

My Creative Space........grey kitty...

Today my creative space is all about finishing off a couple of things. I have just finished this grey kitty to add to my growing softie family (I guess I could call it the aqua kitty just as easily, but I tend to go with the body colour in my super imaginative naming process!)

I'm getting better at writing the patterns and doing the same things twice and getting the same results, so my confidence in the patterns is growing, just a bit more tweeking I think.

I used the standard granny square pattern for this little kitty's belly, I think it looks ok. I like the combo of aqua, lime and grey, so pretty pleased with the colours for this guy.

So, have a happy creative day and check out more creative spaces here at Kirsty's place.

Dangley flower garland.....done....

Sooo... I am so happy that our computer is back at full speed and my little blog break can be over, I have had a few things I wanted to show you all and it was very frustrating!

Anyhoo, here is my finished flowery dangley vine garland......what do you think?
Hard to photograph, but I am quite happy with it in the end!

....lots of pretty colours....

...I think I might make some more of these, it was fun to make, and I'd like to try one with different types of flowers and maybe a few insects stuck in there too!

Anyway, I have been busy making a few other things too that I will post about over the next few days, so stay tuned!

Also noticed a bit of a milestone approaching, could be nearly time for something special to celebrate..... but more of that later!

And hoping to have some exciting news on the crafty front to share soon, I'm starting to get very enthused about the whole crafty career idea, so I'll keep you posted!

I'm off to catch up on a spot of blog reading that I have been missing out on for a week or so, looking forward to seeing what you guys have been up to!

PS. What is with all the natural disasters around this region recently? First floods and cyclones here, and now terrible earthquakes in NZ, my thoughts go out to everyone doing it tough at the moment and looking at long difficult clean ups, stay strong, the rest of the world is with you too.

Bye for now!

Computer says .....no....

Will be having a little forced blogging break, due to a heap of downloading by a mystery person, that has meant our internet is soooooo slow that it will be too frustrating to post. I am so sorry, as I have a finished flower vine garland to show you! Oh well, by the time it resets to normal I should have a few other things finished to post about too!
Have a great week and I'll be back in a week of so!

My Creative Space....vines

.....so today I am supposed to be concentrating on bringing some order to our home, think heavy day of housework - washing, ironing, bathrooms, floors the whole shebang.

Umm... instead I am hooking a long chain and joining all my little flowers onto their vine.
It wasn't a really hard choice.

I do feel guilty and self indulgent though, so I might even get the housework done later, stranger things have happened.

Have a looksie at some super creative spaces at Kirsty's place over here.

Have a great day!

Flower power!

Hello!

I am taking a little break from the softie crochet and have been making these little daisy type flowers. I have big dangley plans for these little things!

Ever since I was little, I have loved things that hang and float and waft around in the air. I had a lovely mobile collection when I was a child, and I always wanted to live in a jungle with all those beautiful vines draped everywhere; I tried to make my bedroom into a viney paradise with lots of fabric leafy hanging things from my ceiling, but I could not get that thick abundant feel. I could never get lost in my room!

I think this is why I still have a fascination for all things hanging, and why I love making useless little garlandy bits of string to hang around our house, and really can't get enough of the whole bunting thing! (I really like the gypsy/ carnival style of colourful decoration)

So stay tuned for some floaty, flowery, whimsy fluff, just because! ( I always feel I need a good reason to justify why I choose to make certain things, because lets face it, most of my stuff is totally useless and impractical and just meant to be 'pretty', I don't know if this is a good enough reason to do something or not, I hope it is!)

I hope you all have a lovely day and good things happen for you!

I'd also like to thank all of you who have taken the time recently to comment on my softies, thank you all for the lovely feedback and encouragement, I love reading your messages and you are all so generous with your thoughts, I appreciate it so much, it is easy to doubt the worth of your own crafty activities, so support from the amazing bloggy community is wonderful! You are all fantastic!

Weekend.....

Hello!

I hope you all have lovely weekends planned! We had a heap of rain here last night and it is still really wet, so we will be doing indoor things I think. I have been shopping at a few local farms this morning and tonight we will be having a totally local meal, with lots of vegies from my garden and other local produce, so I am pretty happy about that!

Seeing how it is so miserable outside I am planning to do some fun crafty things this afternoon while the boys have friends over, can't wait to get started! Hope to have photos soon!

I am joining a 'linky party' today over on Annemaries blog, so if you have some time to fill in and you want to see some inspiring crafty goodness, go have a look! It is actually a blog hop, but I am not sure how to get the code onto my blog (still a novice obviously), so I am just linking to it.

See you soon!

My Creative Space........Green Rabbit Ta da!

Well here he is, the Green Rabbit!

I know my names are lacking in imagination, but anyhoo....
This granny bunny was made using the 'circles of friends' granny pattern for his body, I like it, but it did take a while to do and I think I have too many colour changes, I think it would be better a little less busy!

Apart from that I am happy with how the rabbit turned out, I like the chunky ears and big eyes!

What do you think? These are so fun to make I am loving no pattern, but it is a challenge to make a back and front that turn out the same!

Have a look at plenty of amazing creativity over at Kirsty's place today.

Have a great day!
