Postcards from Coolangatta

Hello everyone!  I am back from our holiday in the sun, we had a lovely time, it was so nice to laze around at the beach and swim in water that was actually warm! 10 days in Coolangatta was just what the doctor ordered, I feel refreshed and ready for the end of year busyness now.

Here are some of the pics I took while we were there, this is my last holiday post so I won't be boring you much longer with my holiday snaps! 

...we stayed in some flats and were quite high so I liked taking pictures of the streets and beach from our balcony, it was so different to a street level view....

...and we also did a fair bit of this too, sitting in restaurants and cafes watching the passing parade of people, good fun.  

...Here we all having a pre dinner drink one night, there was quite a big group of us! 

It was a great family holiday and all the kids had a fun time with their cousins, we are back to normal life now though,  the boys are back to school next week and I'll have to get back into the swing of blogging again!

Australia Day Weekend - Harrietville style

So we have just had the Australia Day long weekend here, this is a weekend when we traditionally go away with some friends camping, this year we went to a little town in the hills called Harrietville. 

What a lovely weekend, gorgeous location, great company and a relaxing few days was had by all.

There's a hoard of boys between our three families, and they all had a ball mucking around in the local dredge hole, and generally hanging out in a pack as boys do.

I thought you might like to see a few snaps from the weekend.  This marks an end to the summer holidays, the boys are back at school on Wednesday, and routines will have to start again (boohoo).

I actually have some work like things to do too, and they are crochet related. Yay!  But more about that some other time.

Cool.....

Well, if you live in Victoria, pretty much everyone has been preoccupied by the weather and in particular how hot it has been!  Today being the fourth day in a row over 40 degrees, our house has really warmed up and the only place to be was in the water.   So that is where we went.

And it was divine.  We are lucky to be close to the beach where we live, so some very relieving cool water is less than 10 minutes away.  It was particularly clear today and like a mill pond, we just submerged and soaked away the heat.

These photos make it look like we were on a secluded beach, but there were actually quite a lot of people around, it's just a long curvy piece of coastline so it's easy to find a bit of space to yourself.

....And then the cool change finally hit, cool wind blowing through the house, such relief!
