Weekend In Stockholm Throw - Finished , tick!

Hello!

Isn't it a satisfying feeling getting something finished that has been hanging around for ages?
This blanket has been sitting as a pile of squares for a long time.
( I started these squares in January 2012!)

And I am so happy I have finally made the effort to finish it off.  I had originally planned a much bigger blanket, but realised that using what I had made and getting a finished blanket was better than hoping I would eventually get around to making more squares.
So it is a nice baby size, still big enough for a cot I think.
I have given it a gentle blocking to flatten it out a little, but it is still quite textured which I like.

The pattern is Weekend in Stockholm Throw by Debbie Stoller, as you can probably tell I have done my own thing with the colours!  It is quite OTT!
I made this with lot's of different 100% wools, a mix of Colorworks, Babywool 8ply and Loyal DK,and probably some other odds and ends thrown in, it was so long ago I can hardly remember!
This blanket really does make me happy!

Anyway, I hope you like this colour hit today, it has brought a smile to my face, hope it does the same  for you!

Have a fab day and thanks for visiting, happy crochet people!  :)

  10. Love the blanket! When you make a blanket like this , obviously you have chosen your colour palette , but do you plan out the sequence of colours in each block so they are all different or do you just go with the flow. I have been making a patchwork crochet granny blanket & to get all the squares different I have found really difficult.

  15. It is beautiful, and I am sure that you are right that it is good to have a finished something even if it is smaller than you might have initially imagined. I love all the different bright colours and think that it would make a great baby blanket because of that!! Lovely. xx

  20. Beautiful -- I love the bright colors! I agree with you.... better to go ahead and finish with what you've made than to keep putting it off to make more squares!

  21. Wow, it came out absolutely gorgeous. The colors are so vibrant and stand out. Very pretty patterns as well.
Sometimes it is better to just finish something, than to do what I have done, never finishing it. I should learn from that.
Thanks for sharing and I will share it with others.
