Some housekeeping and a giveaway!!

Hello everyone!

How has your week been going?  The weeks are flying by here, is that happening to you too?

I think I have mentioned that I have been doing a little e-course
about blogging called 'Blog with Pip'.
It has been great, and has pretty much finished now, so I am trying to implement a few things on this blog that I have been thinking about during the course.
One thing we were encouraged to think about was why we blog, the reason for our blogging.
For me, this blog started as a way to record my crafty makes and my new found love of crochet, and bits of our family life,  it was pretty much just for me.
I never imagined that I would still be doing it 4 years later, and that other people would enjoy reading about the things I post!
So the 'why' I blog has changed a little, I now feel like I am writing it not just for me, but also for others, and there is some pressure to make it good!  I know I don't deliver on this all the time!!

I also have more of a need to earn a little income than I did back then, so the wool shop and my blog have become my little business outlet.  I am not very good at that!
But I am going to persevere, as it is something that I really enjoy and I love working from home and for myself.  I find business things a real challenge, far outside my comfort zone, but I am going to try and get better at them, and put more time into my shop and blog. Yes I am!

So some of the little changes I have made so far:

 - added an 'About Me' page in the top menu, (I can't real imagine why you'd want to know much about me, but apparently readers of blogs like to know about the people who write them! Something I learnt from Pip! I felt completely self conscious writing it, but anyhoo, it's there now!)

- Calling all sponsors!!!
........another thing I feel self conscious about, I have opened up some space in
my sidebar for a few little sponsor ads.   So if you (or someone you know) has a blog or little crafty business, or maybe an Etsy/Madeit shop and would like to advertise it with a cute
banner ad on Little Woollie, I would be very happy to help!
Feel free to check out my sponsors page for more info regarding sponsorship.
I have set things up with Passionfruit Ads so it should be a nice simple
process to get your ad up and running quickly.
And if you would like to chat about this further please feel free to email me!

Phew! I'm glad I have got all that out!
Definite non-comfort zone things there, but pretty exciting just the same!

I'M HAVING A GIVE AWAY!!

So onto other fun things, I have decided that I don't reward you enough dear readers for visiting me, I appreciate all my crafty peeps out there in the big wide world, and sometimes I think it is nice to give some love back!
So I am going to run a crafty giveaway once a month for the rest of the year.
I'm not sure what I'll give away each time, probably things I see that I like and think you might too!
I have noticed lots of new peeps tuning in here, and I'd like to acknowledge
and thank you all for your interest!

The giveaway for March is these 6 balls of Merino Magic 8ply in some lovely shades.  Maybe this could be the start of  an Autumn blanket? Or a cute stripy scarf? Or some cute bunting? Or whatever else you can think of!!  I'm sure you could make something lovely with this yarn, it is one of my regular go-to yarns, I really love using it!

So this is just because you are all ace and, once again, I want to say a big thank you for all your wonderful support here at Little Woollie headquarters!  xxxxxxx

If you would like to enter my giveaway, just leave a comment and tell me what your favourite yarn is! ( I am having trouble picking new stock for my shop, (there are just so many different yarns out there) and could do with your opinions! )
It would be lovely if you'd like to share this give away on your blogs/facebook, but it is not a requirement for entry! :)  I'll pick a winner next Friday.

Wow, this little blog is growing up!  I don't think it will ever look super slick or very cool, but it is kind of like me, a bit scruffy round the edges and pretty much homemade!

Ok, I think that is all the bloggy business I have to report at the moment, thank you for your attention and please enter my giveaway!  xxxxxxxx

Edited: Give away now closed, thanks for entering!!

I hope you don't think I am 'selling out', the content of my posts won't change, I will still be making it up as I go!!!  xxxx

  1. Hi,
    this is Brigitte from Belgium.

    I simply adore your blog.
You make so many beautiful, wonderful, enticing things.

Obviously I am a big candidate for your giveaway.

    My favourite wool is:
    1) of a bright colour,
    2) soft, like mohair (we were in Iceland and all the yarn in the shops was very special, zo silky)
    3) spickled (is that an English word?)

My last post on my blog is about the Granny-flowers-à-la-Brigitte. You can have a look here:

  2. What a great giveaway idea, I can certainly spread your woollie word if I win. Thanks for your posts as always, it seems you have learnt lots on the tutorial, very exciting. Jo x

  3. My favourite yarn is cotton, but probably because I still consider myself a beginner at crocheting, and the cotton is easy to work with and it's good for the arugumi I do most of.

  4. Lovely :) My favourite yarn is Stylecraft special DK because of the range of colours they have, but a close second is handspun yarn from various artisans on Etsy :) Love those yarns!

  5. My favorite are cotton and merino. I like bright colors too!

  6. I would love to win this wool! You are right, it would make a fabulous scarf! i don't think I have a favourite yarn, but I always use wool, with maybe some angora , mohair or cashmere in it!

  7. My favorite yarn is "Limone", a 100% cotton one... And some versions of Katia, Belice, Alaska
    Greets Sofie

  9. What a great giveaway! Since moving back to Australia from Canada I've had to do away with year-round luxurious fluffy wools and have steered towards more bamboo and cotton yarns *shakes fist at the heat*. Sirdar's Snuggly Bamboo is a top one that springs to mind. It really is snuggly!

I would also enjoy seeing the colour combo packs and would love to see more bright colour packs :)

  13. Hi Jules, I love the colours you have been introducing into the shop. Jo Sharp (I think she's from Western Australia) puts out nice wool yarns and patterns to match. I dont knit enough to comment about others and usually buy by colour and then find something to do with it. Have been utilising cottons that I have op shopped of late. Thanks for the give away. Cheers Monique

  14. The wool colours look lovely, I saw a lovely stripy scarf on the television yesterday Gilmore Girls if I remember correctly & the wool would be great for that. I rather like Sirdar wools as they do seem more economical than other brands. Even though I do buy expensive wool from time to time which I end up stroking rather than making something out of. As a new knitter/crochet person I'm scared of making huge mistakes.

  15. What a nice give-away, with beautifull yarn! I would love to crochet or knit with it! My favourite yarn, mmm, I like the cotton from PhildarCatania and Limone. You can use it together, the colours are wonderfull and it's so easy to work with.

I would also like to give you a compliment for your blog. I really like to see your pictures (reading in English is not my cup of tea) and it's so funny that your seasons are so diffirent than ours. So watching your tomatoes and pumkins grow while it's winter over hear, hehe.. It makes me want to start more and more!

  16. Hello Jules
I just love how you are so humble about your blog and somehow don't feel that what you are doing is quite up to scratch - can I just shout very loudly.... this is SO NOT TRUE ! You give so much through your blog, colour, fun, ideas, inspiration, chit chat and so, so much more.
I just adore your blog so don't ever stop, OK ! Its not you who should be thanking us, but rather us thanking you. x
Aaaannnyyway.....my favourite wools at the moment are Sublime extra fine merino and Millamia naturally soft Merino, they both work up so beautifully and give me lots of pleasure !
    Have a lovely day,

  17. Hmmm.....my favorite yarn? I'm a yarn-a-holic! How could I choose one. I love Cascade 220, which I'm currently making a granny square blanket out of. I love good cotton yarn, like Weekend, or Fantasy Naturale. Looking at some Ultra Pima at the local yarn store, not sure what I'm going to make out of it yet. I love natural fibers, beautiful colors, and making fun stuff! Thanks for the give away and for having a lovely blog. You are doing a good job updating it and good for you if you can make a few dollars for your hard work!

  18. Hi! I LOVE those colours and my favourite yarn is Milla Mia merino :) fingers crossed! :)

  19. You have a great blog and I commend you for making it the best it can be, but I already loved it! My favourite wools are probably the soft comforting ones so merino and cottons are the best for working with. Recently, I've been into super chunky wool just for the speed of making things up as my patience is worn a bit thin but I do love delicate, soft, 'drapey' snuggly wools best..

  20. I love your blog!
    I love Rico cottons :)

  32. Alpaca is my latest favourite - soft, squishy and beautiful natural colours. I'm currently using a French brand - Bouton d'Or - for a pair of ankle warmers (completely inappropriate for Aussie weather but not really bothered - I feel being able to crochet and knit is something of a luxury anyway!)

  63. I was directed this way from Diy's Hooks and Yarns. I'm a new follower. My favorite yarn? Really I just buy whatever's on sale at the store. I live in a small town and the yarn selection here is not good. Whenever I go into the city I usually pick up whatever is on sale as long as it feels soft and has pretty colors to choose from. I just tried Loops and Threads and really like it.

  64. I don't get to crochet as much as I would like, so I really don't have a favorite yarn. I just love yarn.

  65. Love the blog! It's a little ray of sunshine in my (otherwise quite dreary) inbox - too many bills and too few cheery emails! So thank you for inviting us all along on your crafty adventure! My favourite wool, I think, is Sirdar Crofter, which I use for socks as it knits up in a random fairisle effect - it's a good "cheat" wool as people think I've actually knitted in fairisle with lots of different colours, when, in fact, it's just one ball of wool. Very crafty indeed! Susan x

  66. I love all yarns especially Vanna Whites line of yarn. Thanks for the giveaway.

  68. I don't comment often but I always read your blog because I love your work and I enjoy your blog posts very much. I think I'm the least-picky yarn-user ever because there are very few I don't like. I love Stylecraft Special DK for blankets and other hard-use projects and I also like anything by Debbie Bliss for fancier, more delicate things. Thank you for the chance to win. :)

    1. Having just recently found you would be a bit strange And Wonderful! To win a giveaway but would ehthusiastically accept! Ha
Living in Texas UsA where we have 3 weeks of spring and 10 months of summer! I yearn for beautiful fibers that are cooler than wool. Don't get me wrong as I love wool and consider it one of God's (or sheeps) gifts of the world! But it is almost always too hot here!
As to wonderful yarns (wool again) I recently discovered a small dying company that has a an absolutely Scrumptous product! Verdantgryphon.com. I just received my first order. Yummmmm.
I love your color sense in your photos.

  69. Like many others I don't always comment, but I do love to follow you in your adventures. Love the new look and wish you much success in your new ventures.
As to my favorite yarn, it is "I LOVE THIS YARN", for one reason because I can't work with wool, as I get the itchies from it, for the other for the bigger skeins and value. I also love stylecraft, but it is very hard to get here.
Thanks for having this little giveaway and would like to throw my name in the bucket. I will mention it on my next blog post to pass it on.
    Greetings, Erika

  71. Hi! I learned about your give away from a post on FB by Sanderellas. I am not a very experienced crocheter and have been learning more and more of this craft in the past few months. I didn't really realize there were so many different types of yarns.

I basically purchase Red Heart Supersaver yarns. I figured that while I am still learning, the quality and pricing of Red Heart is good enough for me for now.

I would love to win this and experience a new type of yarn and what I can do with them. :)

  72. Thank you so much for this great giveaway!! And on this occasion, thanks as well for sharing all the pretty things on your blog, visiting is always a pleasure :-). I'll try my luck, it would be great to be the happy one that gives these stunning balls of wool a new home. They look perfect for a snugly cowl or scarf! About your question... Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino is wonderful, Drops Alpaca too, Schachenmayr Catania... But I also like working with simple acrylics, they are wonderfully versatile. And I like sock yarns in general. Bye for now, have a cozy evening!!

  74. Thank you for sharing some of your stash! I think my favorite yarn is generally whichever one I'm using at the moment! Right now, that would be a Berrocco yarn called Floret. It is an acrylic/cotton blend that comes in all sorts of yummy blended colors. P.S. Thank you for all the patterns and tutorials you share!

  75. I usually crochet, or knit simply, with acrylic since I collect yarnscraps from my mums co-workers and they use mostly babyyarn. This have made my love for wool even bigger! Oh How I long to feel wool or alpaca through my fingers again!
I like M&K eco wool, Drops Alpacca, Drops Nepal but my fav is Katia which is 50 wool and 50 acrylic, and that doesn´t feel itchy at all. I am feeling more brave about colours now than ever, I think it´s because I need the colour and happy feeling in my life now, so I´m looking around for good, vibrant and happy colours in wool or wool/acrylic. Something like the purple and yellow crocus that is coming now :)
I will like to enter your giveaway and will keep my fingers crossed for luck. I love yarn and it would make me happy to get some new ones to snuggly up with at the hospital, where I sadly spend so much time due to MS and painrehabilitation. Hooking goes a long way as entertainment!

I live in the US so our lives and seasons are completely the opposite and it is nice to get a little sun and warmth in the middle of our snow and blowing wind:) I have discovered Loops and Threads Charisma it is a lovely 100% acrylic and is machine washable and dryable. It is so extremely soft and fun to work with I am considering making an afghan (and that is one big project) but this is so nice it might just be worth it. Thanks for a look into your life. Lisa

  80. Jules, I have been a ''fan'' of your blog for quite some time! I absolutely love your color choices. (I also love your posts that include sweet Attila =^..^= your adorable ginger/orange kitty!) I consider myself a ''forever beginner'' in crochet, so I usually stick with inexpensive yarn, but for any gifts I make, I love to indulge in a good high quality yarn. I was so excited when you began offering your yarn for sale, but I don't understand the shipping charges to the U.S.; going by ounces instead of balls. Is there a way to estimate that for future sales to the U.S.? Thank you for offering a giveaway ~ and I'm so glad you've included a section about yourself! Warm regards, Lisa in Oregon. :-)

  88. It's hard to pick a favorite yarn, but I really like soft wool, and cotton. Keep up the good work on your blog, I love it!

    ReplyDelete
  89. It sounds like you picked up some good bloggy tips there :-) I'm sure your blog won't change for the worse, but if it's better for you then that's great!

My fave wool is probably Baby Cashmerino. I haven't used it much because of the price but I love the colours that Debbie Bliss makes, they've got such a nice depth to them :-)

  90. Hello little woollie! Ooooh the colours of your yarn look irresistible! My favourite wool is Debbie Bliss ... I have used the cotton to crochet a baby cardigan and cashmerino for anything needing a snuggle factor! I love catching up with your blog. Emma x

  92. One of my favourites is a chunky yarn from Hawthorne Cottage in Victoria. When it works through your hands the 'thick bits' are so soft and fleecy that they instantly remind me of the sheep it comes from

  93. What a lovely give away! I really like to join.

My favorite yarn, actually I don't know. I like soft yarn not the cheap stuff but good quality. I like the brand Lana Grossa a lot.
For my amigurumi I use Phildar coton 3.

HI, my name is Harma, I'm from the Netherlands. I tend to crochet with acryllic yarns, as they turn out to be the cheapest, but I find that cottons preserve better. Acryllic pieces start to get fluffy and uggly. So still discovering and on the look out for better yarns! Although I really like the big chunky stuff, I mainly use 3-4mm yarns. My 3.5mm hook is my favourite! I'm not really into bright colours, but I like using pastels. A project I'm working on at the moment is the crochet mood blanket 2014 (by Fro Funky), in order to shrink my stash of leftover acryllic yarns.

  97. Isn't that strange, yours is the 2nd blog I have read voicing concern over not being "slick and professional", Tania over at Ivy Nest was the other one. Like I said to her, slick polished blogs are not for me, I don't want to feel like I am entering a corporate environment I want to feel like I am visiting a friend, kicking off my shoes, grabbing a cuppa and sitting down for a chat. I love your blog, please don't change xxBrenda

  104. Love your blog! My preference is cotton as living in Sunny Queensland means that other fibres can be too hot. I find cotton breathes well & my children can still enjoy their Mumma made creations in seasons other than winter. Sara-Maree.

  105. Hi Julie, your blog is amazing! It really is. I'm glad you're stepping out of your comfort zone, I'll feel inspired to do the same.
My favourite yarn - well, I'm always after two things. One is organic cotton for making things around the house (dishcloths, washcloths, etc). Pretty colours or plain, I'm not fussed. The softer the better. And the other thing is - any pure wool in my favourite colours, which are very aumunt-ish. Burnt oranges, olive greens, mustard tones…
I would much rather buy my yarns from your shop than one of the big places. I'm glad I know you exist now!

  106. Thank you Jules for your generous give away offer of such lovely yarn. My favourite yarn is probably my own 100% Merino homespun but more generally I would say Cleckheaton Country as it is always consistent in quality and reliable in colour. Most of the wool I use is for charity knitting so always want a reliable yarn that is not too expensive. Most importantly I only use Australian Made wool. Always enjoy your blog particularly the gelato colours!
    Thank you.

  107. I love your blog, and hope your changes work out well!!! :) Sounds like some cool new steps for you.

My favorite kind of yarn is soft and variegated in dark tones. I also like it not too thick or thin (yes, I seem to want magic yarn) :)

  110. Wow, picking a favorite yarn is like picking a favorite child. Impossible!

At the moment I'm loving Lion Brand Amazing and Knit Picks Chroma (fingering). In general, I love varigated yarns, but a solid colored yarn works for me, too. Depends on the project. Argh! I can't decide! I love them all!

    ReplyDelete
  111. I love natural fibres. Fibrespates Scrumptious is my current favourite. It's more than I can afford so I tested myself to a single skein of their 4 ply in gold... It's stunningin every way.
Oh, yes please, I would like the chance to enter your giveaway.
I have just started my own blog and have so much to learn! It sounds like your course was really helpful and that you got a lot out of it. My blog is http://www.yarnandpencil.blogspot.co.uk Is it being cheeky posting it here? I don't understand the protocol of such things and would like to know if it it's acceptable please.

  112. I mainly crochet for my kids so something non-itchy and easy to wash is my favourite yarn! I love a range of bright colours too - especially yellows!

    ReplyDelete
  113. Whoa, look at all those comments. A giveaway is certainly a great way to get your readers interacting, haha. I enjoy a few different things about your blog. The crafty bits, the gardeny bits, and the Aussie-ish bits. My favourite yarn? Not sure. I like to use cotton because I live in Queensland. I mostly use fairly cheap stuff, whatever natural fibre Spotlight has on special, because that's what fits my budget. I love the colour of Noro, but the one ball I have bought does not feel at all luxurious. I wonder if other people agree?

    ReplyDelete
  114. I love your blog. I like to knit and crochet with Cascade yarn, but love to use all types of yarns. Who can choose just one!!!

    ReplyDelete
  117. I haven't really got a 'go to' favourite, but I do love Stylecraft dk and aran - the aran is especially good for making baby shoes. I just finished making a blanket with Ice Cashmere Gold and the finished product is warm, soft and cuddly, so I'm really liking that at the moment. I discovered Drops and Rico last summer, so I've been playing around with them, mostly the cottons so far, but I've fallen hook, line and sinker for the Drops sock yarn and can't seem to stop making socks just because I love it so much! (and they're gorgeous to wear) :-)

    ReplyDelete
  118. I love Misti hand painted alpaca wool, it is great fun to knit and crochet with as the colours are always changing and the mixtures where the colours change are always something new. It is so soft too, I love alpaca wool!

    ReplyDelete
  119. I loved reading about your experience as a blogger over the last years, I would also love to expand from my crafty blog to a shop as well, but there's so much to think about! The Merino yarn looks yummy, I've never worked with Merino before. There are so many lovely yarns out there, but so far my favourite is Markoma Fast (acrylic, 5 ply)

  121. I love your blog and enjoy seeing all the new things you create. Unfortunately price is a big factor for me when choosing wool, I do love the gorgeous hand dyed yarns, but don't purchase them. I've found the ice yarns offer great value for money and have a wonderful range to choose from, I recently purchased some alpaca blend yarn and I can't wait to use it. I also like the king cole ranges with vibrant colours running through them, I have some wicked in my stash at the minute and I can't decide what to make with it!

  149. I love knitting with merino. My favorite is the DROPS Merino or any DROPS yarn (the alpaca is so soft that if you make socks with it you can pretty much expect to never want to take them off!) because their colours are SO luscious and rich. I'm a big fan of vibrant colour and deep rich neutrals.

  154. My all time favorite for knitting and crocheting is pure cotton, my second favorite is pure wool; any brand for either but in a medium to higher quality of yarn. My favorite brand for wool is Drops. I still rely on Lion Brand, Caron, and Red Heart for my acrylics. I just love to crochet and knit and can find a use for each yarn. I use Caron Simply Soft for my afghans and all my 'test' projects because of the ease of availability and range of colors. It wears well, has great drape, and I can tell if I need a cotton or wool on the rework. Lion Brand has my favorite cotton and chunky blends for my teenagers; as well as a stainless steel yarn that I'm in love with! I am trying to find a go-to merino and a silk that is all-purpose - otherwise I have been happy with using what a pattern has called for in whatever I have been making. I haven't used the merino you are so generously giving away and would love to try it.

  160. Hey there!
First of all I have to say that I really love your blog! I started crocheting the colourful stripey blanket and added a few of my own favourite stitches to it. I have to say it's coming along quite nicely. :) For this, I used a 100% cotton yarn which is my all time favourite! However, a gorgeous yarn that I have just discovered when visiting my mum in Germany just a few weeks back is by linea pura called Cashsilk. It is made out of 15% silk, 15% cashmere, 30% viscose and 40% polyamid. It is so incredibly soft and feels fantastic on the skin! It is a yarn for late spring in Germany and it would be perfect for the Australian winter! :)

I still have a bit left from the scarf I made from it. I'm happy to send it to you to have a feel. :) Whetehr you'll get exactly the same here, I'm not sure. But it's definitely worth some research. :)

I am so pleased you feel that your blog is growing! I discovered your blog maybe 12 months ago and just love checking in to see what new and unique project you have started, your colour combinations always inspire me and starting your very own yarn store is something I dream about doing one day too :)
My favourite yarn comes from the Nundle woollen mill, which is pretty much local for me (Im from Tamworth) so I love to support our local business, but their yarn is just beautiful to work with! Natural fibres, bold and bright colours, a variety of weights available and felts just beautifully!
Good luck choosing a winner :)

  169. Gosh, that's a lot of comments! I'm not sure I have a favourite yarn, I guess it depends what I'm making. I love cottons when I'm crocheting for the stitch definition....for knitting not so much, I used a silky tweed Rowan recently for a jumper which was just beautiful, but I would choose something with sparkle I think. I bought some hand dyed laceweight which had a very light sparkly touch to it, no scratch or itch, very subtle, I think it was called stelina or something? Very lovely, and sparkle makes it for me! I would love to be entered into your giveaway if you are happy to post abroad? Thank you!

    1. Hi, beautiful blog, I'm a new reader :) Loving your photographs and projects. But how can I choose just one favourite yarn?! What a difficult question! I suppose I'd probably go fir Rowan's felted tweed, but that makes me feel disloyal to all my other favourites!

  178. Hi! What an awesome giveaway! I love Bendigo Woollen Mills yarn, because I'm always looking for 100% Australian wool and their yarn is lovely to work with. But sometimes their colour selections are a bit narrow. I'm really interested in the neon yarn trends at the moment and would love access to good quality Australian wool that was neon! My preference is 100% wool, but I've been reading a book which says to mix 8ply wool with 8ply acrylic in the same colour to make this awesome looking picnic rug and can't find a brand that does both wool and acrylic in the same colour lots - so I'd love it if you could find someone who does that!
Oh and I suppose, it would be nice to see some more cotton yarn in various plys!
I'm don't envy you the task of picking new stock - but what fun!
I'm going to share this comp on my fb now :)

It glides through your hands so easily and doesn't split like other yarns sometimes do. I wish they had a variegated but I've fixed that - I've handpainted some, lol! They have a huge range in soft squishy balls. Love the Magic yarn and those colours are to die for! warm wishes, lu in Brisbane

  186. I have been drawn to your blog again and again because of the colours and style of your gorgeous striped blankets. I also drool over the colour packs in your shop but the postage to the UK would be too much :-( it would be so wonderful if you could work your colour magic selection on a yarn that we can also buy in the UK, like Rico or Stylecraft. Pretty please? I would love to be able to make a blanket in "little woollie colours". I'd also be v grateful if you could let me know the details of the lovely padded crochet flower on the bottom right hand side of your header/banner, I've been looking through your blog but so far haven't been able to find it. Love and gratitude for your fab blog, Jo xx.

  188. Wool and cotton wins every time - natural yarns as anything man-made looks terrible after couple of weeks use. This wool looks lovely and tactile - beautiful colours too!
Pip is right - it's so lovely to find out more about the author. I guess it's part of knowing that there is a real person behind the words and part of connection :-)
I was considering doing Pip's course - she seems so friendly and down to earth! What do you think about the course?
    Really enjoying your blog :-)

  189. Just let me say that I love your blog, thank you. I love knitting with all kinds of wool from a vintage 100 year old baby shawl knitted in 2 ply to recently completing my first crochet project (just starting out) in Stylecraft. I love artisan wools and try, when possible, to support local wool and dyers. Having been knitting since I was 5 year old (am now 52) I am finally in vogue, as people keep telling me. I find great pleasure reading about people's new adventures into the delights of knitting and I am sure it will now be a craft long to remain. Knitters of the world unite. xx

  190. I love knitting with wool but my absolute favorite is kettle dyed merino. I love how soft it is and how rich the colors are.

  191. I'm a crocheter and I like all kinds of yarn but I seem to gravitate toward wool quite often. Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride is a single-ply 85% wool/15% mohair that is tops for quality and consistency and American made. I love your polka dot squares! Have to give that a go real soon.

  193. As is so often true, what I'm knitting with right now is my favorite today. I am currently knitting a pair of gloves out of Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock Lightweight. I really do love this yarn though - smooshy and soft and gorgeous colors.
