Well, if you live in Victoria, pretty much everyone has been preoccupied by the weather and in particular how hot it has been! Today being the fourth day in a row over 40 degrees, our house has really warmed up and the only place to be was in the water. So that is where we went.
And it was divine. We are lucky to be close to the beach where we live, so some very relieving cool water is less than 10 minutes away. It was particularly clear today and like a mill pond, we just submerged and soaked away the heat.
These photos make it look like we were on a secluded beach, but there were actually quite a lot of people around, it's just a long curvy piece of coastline so it's easy to find a bit of space to yourself.
....And then the cool change finally hit, cool wind blowing through the house, such relief!
I hope you found a cool spot to spend the heatwave!
The beach is just beautiful! I hope that the cooler air comes soon for you, it is so horrid when it is that hot isn' it. xx
ReplyDeleteHow fun to see your beach pictures! We are currently bundled up to our noses here in Cleveland, Ohio.
ReplyDeleteI wish I wish I wish ..... I was there !! Here in Europe we are battling rain, wind, grey skies .... Urg !! But thank you so much for sharing such lovely warm photos, it looks beautiful there . :)
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely to see these pics. In the southern UK it is grey, cold and very, very wet. Depressingly so! This has lifted me. I really need to have some sun and warmth on my face soon!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a super weekend
Vanessa x
Beautiful :-) Looks like everyone had a great day.
ReplyDeleteCold grey weather here and unpleasant though it is a heatwave is possibly worse as there seems to be no respite and it sucks all your energy. At least in the cold you can wrap up in your woollies but in summer there is a limit to what you can take off for decency's sake. Glad the cooler air is coming.
ReplyDeleteWonderful. We have rain and it is windy here. I wish you a good time.

I saw a picture today of a lion licking a block of iced blood. Bit gory but the lion looked so happy. Your pictures look as if it was exactly what was needed. X
ReplyDeleteLooks stunning. Such blue sky. Still chilly here despite hot water bottle and blanket!
ReplyDeleteWe're having a mild winter here but it's still cold and I love that on the other side of the world it's your summer! Glad you found some relief from the heat, the beach looks beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteOoohhh... to be swimming at the beach!!! It's freezing here in the eastern US!!! Can't wait for Spring!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous as we have 60 mile per hour winds and it feels like 10 below!
ReplyDeleteBest,

I am rather jealous to know you are SO close to the beach! It must have been very refreshing! Did you ever want to get out?
ReplyDeleteWow! Our nearest beach is three hours away! Needless to say we don't get to the beach often. It looks beautiful! What a lovely way to spend a hot day.
ReplyDeleteThank god for the cool change. We are in Warrandyte and were advised to evacuate yesterday! Would so rather have been at the beach.
ReplyDeleteHot is an understatement. We lost the power here as well on Thursday so with no air con and 3 hot and grumpy kids I decided to evacuate for a day. Came back Friday afternoon and got settled and the power went out again. Grrrr. But at least it came back pretty quickly.
ReplyDeleteLucky ducks is all I can say.....how wonderful to be 10 minutes from the beach Jules.....:)
ReplyDeleteThankfully, we have aircon, so have been able to cope with it, but I want to bring the poor chookies inside as they are
really feeling it!
A little cooler today only 35deg. and tonight there is a cooling breeze so quite pleasant now......enjoy your cooler week......Xx
Jules what a heavenly place to live, love your photographs, can almost feel the heat. Have a wonderful day, big hugs
