Hello!
How are you going in your bit of this big old world?
Around here Summer has done a bit of an encore, and we are in the middle of a heat wave that is supposed to last for 4 more days, it is seriously hot!
We are spending a lot of time in water, either at the beach or at my parents place in their lovely pool, or if we are at home a cool shower is the order of the day.
We spent today having a dip in the sea at Point Leo and then walking up to my parents and jumping in the pool. The beach was crowded with like minded people, cooling off in the beautiful clear water.
I think it has been one of the best years for swimming at Point Leo in a long time, the water has been like a tropical island and snorkelling has had really excellent visibility, and although it is technically a surf beach, the waves have been tiny so you can just float around all day if you like!
Nights are a different story, restless and wakeful. We don't have air con, so I just leave the windows open at night to try and cool the house down, which is less effective as the heatwave continues.
But never mind, we are not doing much on these hot days, so it doesn't matter if I am going around half awake. ( It is also a long weekend here, so an extra day of lounging around for everyone, although my boys are going to a music festival tomorrow in the city that I am sure will be boiling!)
As you can imagine, not a lot of crafty action has been going on, it has been too hot to hook!
I am sure I'll remedy that soon though.
Pt Leo beach, umbrellas and tents galore! |
There were plenty of bodies on the beach today, lucky it is a lovely wide sandy beach so you don't feel crowded. |
Straight into the water for us! Blissful |

What a lovely beach, it's nice to see a bit of sunshine. It's still freezing here in the UK, in fact snow is forcast again for tonight :0) so I've been knitting and crocheting to keep warm.

What lovely pictures - I'm currently looking out of the window at grey sky with the odd flake of snow floating about - brrrr x Jane
ReplyDeleteI am so, so, so, so jealous! It is snowing here today, but grim snow that is not settling. And it never got hot last summer - just rain all summer long. Oh for some hot weather and the beach! I am enjoying it vicariously through you.
ReplyDeleteLovely beach I need some hot summer days and some swimming in the sea....
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the winners!

What a fantastic day to be sitting on the beach. I agree it would be too hot for a hooky project. Here it is grey, freezing, raining one minute and snow the next, a real mixed bag. Doesn't help that it is Mothering Sunday and I should be walking amongst daffodils now! Thanks for sharing your warmth. Take care. Chel x
ReplyDeleteHere in north central Washington spring is just peeking out. We had a near perfect winter and now we have shoots popping up everywhere. Your beach looks grand, though. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog...love your crochet
ReplyDeleteI almost NEVER go to the beach in summer. I am so fair skinned that I will burn severely in a matter of 10 or 15 minutes. Sun screen helps a little but for me it is simply best to stay out of the sun. BUT I do miss swimming, I'd love to have access to a pool. Oh well, perhaps one day!

Eeek!! that's me woohoo......squeals of delight between mouthfuls of cereal, trying not to choke.... thankyou Julie........
ReplyDeleteDefintely looking forward to crochet weather now!!
Your beach pics look lovely and how nice to have it so close to enjoy and your parents pool as well.......just what's needed in this weather.
Will be looking forward to cooler temps and some nice rain, to refresh the garden.
Enjoy you long weekend......another day closer to that cool change, yay!!
Claire xx
The beach has been the only place to be lately, lucky for me it is close by. Not quite as pristine as yours and definitely crowded when school's out but wet and refreshing just the same.
ReplyDeleteLucky winners.
Hope your shop keeping venture is off to a good start.
Enjoy today.
Queensland has been decidedly cooler than Victoria for the last week or two..we could actually do with a bit of warmth here. I'm dying to use the local swimming pool but it's been a bit too cold for that..and rainy!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else, the beach looks heavenly! We are trying to warm up to Spring here in Savannah, Georgia, but the nights are still a bit cold. I know I'll be complaining about the heat and humidity soon enough, but I'm ready for the cold to go away!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I'm thrilled!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Jules.
You know I positive your wool shop is going to be an enormous sucess.
I hope you have a wonderful week.
Eeeeeeep!!!!

Oh Point Leo was our families favourite spot back in the 60-80's whilst we were
ReplyDeletegrowing up and then took our kids to for a while. My dad's name so I know he loved it for

ReplyDeleteBecause it's snowing, raining and cold, cold, cold...... WE WANT TO SEE THE SUN !!!!
I hope one day I'll visit your country. First planning a vacation in Thailand....
