Yarn Along

Hello there!

Firstly, I'd like to thank you all so much for your wonderful comments on my last post, what a brilliant supportive community there is out there in blogland!!  I have really felt great today, with all your lovely encouraging, enthusiasm and good wishes, I guess that is what blogging lets into your life, the chance to connect with so many great people!  So, this little yarn shop is going ahead,
and I feel really good about it!  ( and yes, I will be sending yarn to all corners of the world,
just checking out the postage situation at the moment!)
You guys are fab!

Onto today's post, I am joining in with Ginny's Yarn Along again, I have just finished
'The Book Thief ' by Markus Zusak, and what a read!!   I know I'm a bit late to the party with this one, but better late than never. This book really sucked me in, I couldn't put it down and read it in a day and a half.  Moving, thought provoking, amusing, sad, horrifying and original all at the same time, no wonder it has been so popular.  I was sorry to finish it just because I don't have something as interesting to go on with now.
And on the crafty front, I have been continuing on with the star stripe blanket #3, I have about 10 rows to go and then an edge to do and it will be finished. Yay!  Maybe next week I'll have a finished blanket to show!

Have you read anything good lately?
What are you making today?

  1. Ah, what a fab book. It is still my point of reference for 'a good book'. I compare pretty much everything I read to this still and I read it about five years ago!

  2. I read that book a few years ago, and was surprised when my son brought it home as his school reader. Seems only yesterday we were reading Dr Seuss. I just have to accept that he is growing up.

    1. Hi Ginx, it is a pretty confronting book, I can imagine there would be plenty to analysis for an English class at school. We still have some Dr Seuss around here somewhere! Thanks for stopping by, J xx

  9. I'm sure your yarn shop will be a great succes :) I haven't read The book thief myself, but my mother did and she indeed tol me it was a great book. At the moment, I'm still busy in the 5th book of 'A song of ice and fire', otherwise known as Game of thrones. If you like fantasy/medieval worlds it's definetely recommended! (and if you don't like reading them but do like looking at filmings, there's the series on ABC ;) )

  10. I was interested in what you said about the book as I got a copy free on World Book Night last year. Have you read The Island by Victoria Hislop? It's about a Leper Colony in Greece - sounds awful but I couldn't put it down.

    Lovely blanket too:)
