Hello.
It's been a busy week here, hence the lack of posting. I don't really know what I've been spending so much time on, just general busy life stuff I think.
Anyway, I have been fitting a bit of crochet in too.
I have a vague idea to do a few markets this year, so I have been making a few little baby things with this in mind. Maybe Mathilda's Market ? My stuff is quite child focused, but I don't know if I'd be big enough, or enough of a 'business' to get into that one. Anyone had a stall at any craft markets in Melbourne they can recommend? Any suggestions?
But I digress.......
Here's what I've been up to recently, taking a bit of a break from granny squares.....
These are little cotton bibs, I have been having fun mixing colours for the stripes.
I have a few more combos to try out before I'm finished.
So that's my creative space for today, a bit of crochet fun.
Have a look at the other creative spaces over here.
I love the colour palette that you crochet with.

Oh they ARE cute! And Fleur is right - the colour palette is gorgeous! I've just been to a Mathildas Markets in Canberra, and they were actually quite small. You just need to make sure you have some good stock I think. Enquire - what have you got to lose? Go for it girl! :)
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful Jules...good luck with the markets :)x

I think you've got good ideas for sellable stuff Jules. The bibs are great.
ReplyDeleteI don't know markets down your way, but it must be the year for us bloggers to hit the markets by the looks of it, I am seriously considering doing so myself, but, have no idea about how to go about it, or where to go.
Maybe we can encourage each other.
What are Mathilda's markets?
cheers
Fi
Mathildas markets are markets that specialise in all things for children. I think they run them all over Australia, they have quite a big website.
DeleteGood luck with your market hunting! :) J
Cores lindas.
ReplyDeleteAdoro.
Parabéns.
Love the colors! Absolutely great idea knitting baby bibs from cotton yarn.
ReplyDeletegorgeous colours. depending where in melb you are, but mathilda's markets are good, however i believe a little pricey to hold a stall. you would be with like minded stall holders though, so the traffic you would get would be customers in the market for babies/kids items etc. another awesome one is http://www.thefinderskeepers.com/markets.php. it's listed as only the once for 2012, but it's fabulous. hope that helps?? good luck with the markets. cheers
ReplyDeleteThese are so adorable and I love the colours you have used. Very sweet little project :o)
ReplyDeleteI agree, the bibs are darling and the colors are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYour color choices never fail to make me happy.
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful bibs
beautifully colored
and practical.
love 'em
hugs
Gerry
Your bibs are great, love them, lovely colours and so practical in cotton. Don't know where in Victoria you live but there are lots of smaller markets around that you could maybe try first. Also are you putting any in your shop as my daughter in law is having a baby in June and I'd love to buy a couple.
ReplyDeleteBev
Hi Bev, Thanks for the nice comments, i will probably put these bibs in my shop soon, I am thinking of opening an etsy shop so might start with these. :) Julie
DeleteHave just thought Magnolia Square might also be good especially the one in Malvern. When I've been there's been lots of young Mum's there.
ReplyDeleteBev
Thanks for the suggestion, will have to check out Magnolia Square. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Jules, your baby bibs are just delightful all stacked up there waiting for new homes and cute little chins to wipe.......
ReplyDeleteWell done on deciding to do some markets, unfortunately I can't help with any info on Melbourne markets but check out your local newsagents as I have seen a little book in ours listing markets around the state, so there might be some good info in that.
I'm sure your wonderful makes would be a big hit .......
