Yarn love- Winter Garden by Debbie Bliss, new in the shop!

Hello!
Firstly I'd like to thank you all for the very kind comments about my stall on the weekend,  you are all so lovely and supportive! xxxx

Secondly, I have been dying to show you some new yarn that arrived here for the shop last week.  I haven't had time to upload it all to the shop until today, so it is all in there now!
Debbie Bliss Winter Garden, a lovely blend of llama, merino wool, silk, and linen, it is a nice chunky yarn  (around 14ply I think) that would knit and crochet up very quickly I would imagine.

Of course the thing I love about it is the colours!  There are lovely flecks of contrasting colour through the base colours, giving a jewel like effect to the tweed.

It is hard to capture in photos!
I am thinking these would be lovely for some warm wrist warmers and maybe a beanie or scarf for winter, although I had a quick look on Ravelry and there are plenty of gorgeous sweaters and cardigans made with Winter Garden too.
I haven't really used a chunky yarn before, so it will be fun testing this out, I just can't decide which colour to choose!

....That grassy green (Sage) is deeper in real life, just lovely!.....

....I am liking the Silver Birch as well, gorgeous flecks of aqua and yellow
through the blue grey, love it!

So this is all in the shop now if you would like to have a closer look, it's over here!
And you can still get 20% off for a couple more days, including the Winter Garden!

xxxxxxxx

Have you tried a chunky yarn before? What did you make?

  2. Really gorgeous wool Jules - I think I'd make a big old Grandad cardigan !
I have used chunky once before to make the hugest of blankets for my daughter to take back to U|ni with her. It worked up so quickly it was just like magic watching it get big so quickly.
