Carnival Harlequin blanket, all done!

Hello.
How's your day been going?  Summer has finally found us here and we had a lovely hot day today, with a few more to come over the next week.  I can see some beach time on the horizon!

Just thought I 'd show you my first finished piece of crochet or 2014, and not even out of January yet!
It was a bit tricky to photograph, but I think you can get the idea.  It is a cot sized blanket, so not too big, I call it the 'Carnival Harlequin' blanket.

I'm glad I finished it off before the hot weather set in, it is quite a thickish, warm blanket, with the extra thread carried across each row.

I decided on a simple border with a few little picots on the last row for a whimsical touch.

I have a couple of other cloud schemes I'd like to try, and this was such a fun blanket to make I think I will start them very soon!

Hope you all have a great day!

  12. Really beautiful. So very much you in the colors chosen. Love the pattern!!! Reminds me of Carnevals (like in your name chosen...) and Jokers. In Mallorca, Spain they had many of them. Spanish people love to dress up in Clown and Joker costumes. Well done. I am inspired to give this pattern a go one day.

  23. I like your diamond shaped afghans and want to make one but I was wondering what size crochet hook you use? I didn't see it mentioned but maybe I missed it?
