5/52 Year of Happy






Four things that made me happy this week

1. Dahlias from the garden, can't get enough of that colour mix.
 (I think these deserve a whole post of their own! Tomorrow!)
2. Fresh green beans straight from the veggie patch, I love to munch on these raw.
3. Apricots! (going to try and make apricot jam tomorrow)
4. My zinnias are finally flowering. Yay!

    First of all your flowers make me happy, my father had a garden for vegetables overhere, but he put also flowers in it, for me and my mother;) and he had also dahlias. And second, I am happy that the snow and freezing cold is gone and I see a few snowdrops... (don't know if this is the right word in english for those lovely tiny flowers) in my garden.byebye from the NEtherlands.

      I just love flowers too Francien, I like to grow them with my veggies so I don't forget to water them.     Everything looks wonderful! In my region, my garden is a bit of failure, BUT I do have
    some zucchini's and tomatoe's coming on ☺☺

      Thanks Wendy, my tomatoes are still really green, i think I was a bit late in getting them going. The good thing about gardening is that there is always another season to turn failure into success, and even if there is only one tiny area that is doing well, that's the bit that keeps me coming back for more!     Making my 'travelled'lampshade
    Buying (more) yarn
    A fab parents evening with my eldest son
    Snow drops in the garden.

    Simple things that have made me happy this week:

    Hellebores coming into flower in my garden
    Daffodils springing up in the park
    Making a banana and walnut loaf yesterday
    Sewing in the ends on a quilt today.

      Lovely list Ann, i love daffys and hellebores too, although I don't have any hellebores in my garden, might have to pop a few in this year.

    Ooh, love those rosy cheeked apricots......gorgeous colours.
    Zinnias yay, they'll provide you with loads of colour and flowers once they really kick on.......
    Beautiful Dahlias and I can't wait till I can pick some of our home grown beans......the heat has really
    set them back and burnt the leaves unfortunately.

    Those dahlias are gorgeous! I love dahlias but never seem to get them to come back a second time. I think maybe gophers eat them! I wonder if they taste as scrumptious as they look?
