new crochet beginnings...

Hello.  How's your week going? Mine's going fine, the weather has cooled of a little so it is nice to get a bit of crochet out.

I found this cute pattern the other day on Pinterest (gotta love it), and have had fun making some little flower hexagons, I really like how they have turned out!

The pattern is called Puffed Daisy Hexagon, by Karen at Colour In a Simple Life, she has a great blog and lots of other lovely patterns available too, so it is worth having a look over there if you have a few minutes.

I think I may have found my hexagon pattern for the year, I have been trying to find a hexagon pattern that was quick and easy, I tried a couple of knitted ones, but I found them quite fiddly and difficult,
So I am so happy with this motif, I like the possibilities of 3 colour combos too, I have plenty of scrap bits of yarn to use up!

......nice and colourful.....

......in need of a bit of blocking I think......

Looking forward to this pile growing!

Thank you for saying hello over on my face book page, I really appreciate your warm welcome, although I haven't figured out how to leave comments on other peoples pages yet, ( my little picture thing doesn't show up and I am just a ghost head on any other page than my own!)  I'm sure I'll get there eventually!

Have a great day!

  2. Darn cute daisies! Have to pop over and check out Karen's blog. Thank you for sharing. Love that first picture of yours. It was the first thing I saw in my blog list when turning my computer on (my blog is my computer start page...). I think it is the background in combination with those spread out flower hexies... Awakens my vintage interest (the green color is so 50's!!!) in a twink of an eye. Will pop over and see your FB page as well. How to leave comments on other FB pages? Just pop over and leave a comment in the field that says "What are you up to?" or something like that. WOrks just fine. ANd to Like, click Like button. You'll figure it out. :D Have agood one.

    1. Thanks Annette glad you like the photo! :) on FB I can leave the comment, but my avatar doesn't show up, so i am kind of anonymous, I guess it is not really a huge problem, just don't know why it only shows up on my page. Have a great day x

  3. They are so cute and delicate! Love the colours... I could do with a bit of colour, as on this side of the planet we have grey, cold and wet weather...

  7. They are lovely but what are you going to do with them? The little squares I made are similiar in a way but only yesterday I confessed on my blog that I have neither patience nor the power of endurance to make enough for a blanket ...

    1. I'm hearing you haekelmonster! I'm hoping that I will stay interested enough for long enough to make enough for a smallish blanket, but they could easily slide into the huge pile of unfinished things that I have started with the best intentions but never got around to finishing.....hmmm time will tell!

  12. I am enjoying? A very big project just now! I am wondering if I should block it. I never have blocked anything yet but like the idea. I wonder if you have to re block when you have washed the item.

  13. This is going to be exceptionally lovely. Will you tell us if you will sew the hex together, or will you connect with a single color. This will be such fun to watch as it unveils. Thank you for all that you share. Elizabeth, Creative Breathing
