Plans......

Sooo.....what's been happening?

I have been in a bit of a limbo recently, I have some exciting plans that might actually become a reality, and it is a bit daunting.

I was telling my 11 year old about what's going on and he said
"so is this one dream Mum that you are actually going to do and not just talk about?"
Hmmmmm....... I think I have a reputation as a dreamer and a bit of a gunna.

I do have lots of ideas and schemes for things I could do, and different paths my life could take, I tend to talk them up for a few days and then they just slip back into the background of life, while everyday stuff is the actual life I lead.
So yes, I can understand when the boys look at me sceptically, I am sure they are thinking, there she goes again, off on another tangent.

But anyway, this is different.  Exciting, a bit risky (not dangerous, but it might not work), and something I think will be really good for me and all my family. Something I have been toying with in various guises for quite a while.
My mum thinks I might be having a mid life thingy, maybe she's right. I think I have been avoiding making decisions about what to do with the next bit of my life, using the boys as an excuse to put off doing things.  hmmmmm....... we will see what happens next!

Sorry to be so criptic, but I will write about what's going on soon if it all pans out .

Have a great day!

  3. This is so refreshing. By the sound of your blog you are a lot younger than me and still, like you, this old head is full of plans. Whatever it is and however scary it is and even if (not meant to be a downer here) it is not the right thing for you at the time, you will only gain from it.
    Go for it.

  5. Good luck, expecialy if you decide to go forward with your dream project.
I so know what you mean, so many times I've thought of bussness ideas, not had time to do anything about them, because of my 2 boys and then watched other people go forward with them. Oh well my time will come, hopefully yours is now.
On a diferent note, while I was sick the other week, the only thing that interested me was your blanket, so I've made a frount of a cushion cover, in your style. It looks sooo good, will try to post pictures on we love Lucy Rav site soon

  6. Ha, you could be describing me. But when you finally feel passionate enough about something to make it to the doing phase it will work.
I finally stopped talking and dreaming and hiding behind the kids last month and I'm so enjoying my little venture. (Designing crochet patterns and all the blogging and tweeting to go with it)
Looking forward to hearing your plans and wishing you the best of British :-)

  7. You realise that by only half saying something we will all try to guess what it might be..........I'm reckoning you are going to have lessons to become one of those people dressed in a sparkly suit who stands on the top of a plane......a wing walker? If it isn't actually that, I think I may be disappointed.....dream big!

  9. Good luck with your plans. I am a thinker and not a doer. I continually have lots of ideas floating around in my head and very few actually come to fruition. Everyday life seems to get in the way but very occasionally something pops out of my head and actually happens and it is such a great feeling when it does :)

  13. This sounds really intriguing, I can't wait to hear more about it!
I'm in a similar position, turned 41, kids are growing up and I am just sitting here wondering what to do with my life. I don't want to return to work and miss out on what I have left of their childhood years and would love to do something around them. The cogs have been turning but so far nothing is jumping out at me lol.
All the best for your venture and whether it works or not, be proud for giving it a go!! (I truly hope it turns out great though!!!!)

    Cheers

  17. OK, I'm listening Julie..........all very cryptic. I could start guessing but I probably wouldn't be anywhere near what you have in mind.

I'm very excited to find out what it is and wish you all the best with your dream/plan whatever it may be.
